Abstract

A dilute solution of partially hydrolysed protein suitable and ready for direct conversion into foam by the addition of air contains at least 0.002% by weight dichlorometaxylenol. The solution may be produced by incorporating the dichlorometaxylenol e.g. as the sodium salt or as a solution in a solvent miscible with the concentrated solution, in a concentrated solution of the partially hydrolysed protein and thereafter diluting the resultant mixture with water.
