Abstract
921,468. Air-break switches. ELEKTROTECHNICKE ZAVODY JULIA FUCIKA. N.P. BRNO. Sept. 14, 1960 [Sept. 14, 1959], No. 31609/60. Class 38 (5). A change-over switch for electrical switchgear comprises rotary knives 1 co-operating with fixed contacts 13, 13<SP>1</SP> and secured by pins 6 to insulating parts 3, 7, 11 of a shaft pivoted in a frame 10 and rotated by a driving mechanism 8, the lower pins 6 pivoting in the axis 2 of fixed contacts 4. In a modification, Fig. 3, the insulating shaft 15 is in one piece and carries pairs of knives 14 pressed by springs 21 to engage segments 20 connected to fixed contacts, Fig. 4 (not shown). Alternatively, each pair of knives 14 may be joined to the fixed contact by a flexible link, Fig. 5 (not shown). The shaft or its parts may be made by pressing from insulating material or by casting from resin.
