Abstract

903,286. Air-break switches. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS.G.m.b.H. Oct. 7, 1959 [Oct. 10, 1958; Jan. 8, 1959], No. 33984/59. Class 38 (5). An isolating switch for a twin-conductor overhead line comprises a pair of arms 4 pivoted at 5 and having respectively one and two pressure jaws 6 engageable with rollers 7 secured to the line or mounted on the conductors 9 or the spacers 11, to permit vertical movement of the line relative to the switch. The driving mechanism 2 operable through a column 1 rotates lower arms 3 to raise or lower the arms 4. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the lower arms are crossed.
