905,214. Liquid switches. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. July 29, 1959 [Aug. 4, 1958], No. 26031/59. Class 38 (5). The height of a multibreak liquid circuitbreaker, e.g. of the low-oil-content type, is reduced by supporting each quenching chamber 4, 5 on an insulating column 17, 18 and securing the columns with the quenching chambers in V-formation on a carriage 1, hydraulic or pneumatic drives 6, 7 for the moving contacts 10, 11 being wholly or partly accommodated in the supporting columns. Fig. 4 (not shown) illustrates an arrangement having three columns and quenching chambers and Fig. 5 (not shown) illustrates a combination of two circuit-breakers to provide a four " break " arrangement. Shunt impedances may be connected across the circuitbreaker contacts.
