Abstract

1,133,051. Switchgear structures. SOUTH WALES SWITCHGEAR Ltd. 4 March, 1966 [31 Dec., 1964], No. 53021/64. Heading H1N. A switehgear arrangement includes duplicate bus-bars 3, 7 located in two chambers 2, 5 respectively and connectable through pivoted bushing isolators 9, 11 to a first terminal of a circuit-breaker 19 comprising two splayed apart interrupter heads 22, 23 connected in series. The isolators 9, 11 may be arranged as described in Specification 1,133,053 or may be replaced by a single isolator movable in an arcuate path as described in Specification 1,133,052. The second terminal of the circuit-breaker 19 is normally connected to a feeder cable 17 through isolating contact 27. The cable may be earthed through the circuit-breaker by an earthing switch blade 29. The breaker 19 may be withdrawn on a trolley 20 to bring its first terminal into engagement with an earthed contact 29a when either of the bus-bars may be earthed through corresponding isolators 9, 11 engaging the second terminal. A shutter 18 is lowered to separate the cable chamber 15 from the circuitbreaker.
