965,013. Switchgear structures. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 20, 1963 [Feb. 27, 1962], No. 7647/62. Heading H2B. In an electric switching station containing shrouded live contacts 3, 4 connectible, by a traversible circuit-breaker 5, to each other or to unshrouded earth contacts 1, 2, the shrouds 3a, 4a have openings provided with shutters 6, 7 movable into positions in the vicinity of the unshrouded contacts 1, 2 by a mechanism controlled by movement of the circuit-breaker. The mechanism may consist of a square or triangular section rod, a twisted end of which engages a similar shaped aperture on part of the circuit-breaker so as to be rotated when the circuit-breaker is moved to engage the contacts, the other end of the rod operating a linkage to remove the shutters 6, 7 to the appropriate positions.
