970,025. Mechanical switches, without quick action. GLOBE-UNION Inc. April 29, 1963 [July 11, 1962], No. 16683/63. Heading H2B. In an electric switch comprising two stators 36, 38 carrying terminals 62, 60 and a rotor 50 carrying contacts 52 consisting of a pair of arms 54, one arm 70 of a " read-out " contact is shorter than the other arm 68, and engages an output ring contact 72, so that as shaft 14, on which the rotor is mounted, rotates the terminals 62 are each connected in turn to the output contact 72 and the remaining terminals 60, 62 are bridged by contacts 52. The switch may be mounted on a panel 12 and has a locating device comprising a spring-pressed ball 32 which engages recesses in an index wheel 30 mounted on the shaft.
