Abstract
805,412. Mechanical switches-without quickaction. TABET MANUFACTURING CO. Inc. Jan. 15, 1957 [April 11, 1956], No. 1521/57. Class 38 (5). A rotary switch has partially embedded contacts 36, 37, 38 in the path of a switch-arm 78 on one side 34 of each insulating plate 26 and similar contacts 46, 47, 48 in the path of an arm 79 on the other side 44 of each plate. The arms 78, 79 are extensions of plates 67, 68 riveted on each side of insulators 69 to form rotors 66 which can turn in a hole 29 in each plate. The plates 67, 68 are electrically connected by the rivets 71 and overlap the edges of the holes 29 so as to engage conductor rings 54, 58. The rings and contacts have conductors (e.g. 39, 41, 42, 61) taken to the edge 32 of each plate so that when a plate is slid into slots 17, 21 of a frame 10 they engage fixed terminals (e.g. 91 ... 94) on fixed plates 101. Slots 31, 74 are provided in the plates 26 and rotors 66 so that they can be slid over the non-circular actuating shaft 20 attached to a knob 11, when the rotor is in the off position so that a plate 26 may be removed or replaced. The slots 31, 74 may be omitted and the rotor provided with a hole of the same shape as the shaft 20 so that the shaft must be removed before a plate can be replaced (Fig. 9, not shown).
