1363652 Mechanical switches ERG INDUSTRIAL CORP Ltd 23 Sept 1971 [30 Sept 1970] 46575/70 Heading H1N An electric switch comprises two parallel rows of terminals tags 14, Fig. 1, 2 on opposite sides of the switch housing 10 and spaced to correspond with the grid of a printed circuit board. The tags 14 are coupled by removable integral shorting links 15 whereby either of the rows may comprise a single linked pole with eight tags, a pair of poles having four tags each, four pairs of tags or eight single tags. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 the tags are bent over in housing 10 to form fixed contacts of a switch engageable by one or more bridging slider contacts 13 as required to give eight way, four way or two way combinations and spaced to provide "make" before or after "break". Upper and lower switch housing parts 10, 11 are resiliently engaged as at tongues and grooves 21, 22 and in which the slider 13 may be resiliently engaged with co-operating projections and indentations (18) Fig. 9 (not shown) to provide detented positions. In a modification the actuators 38, Fig. 11, may be rotary to provide a camming action as at 53, 54 for moving contact blades 37, the separate actuators being linked by pins (48) Fig. 10 (not shown) as required for common actuation of two or more switches simultaneously.
