Abstract
920,219. Centrifugal pumps. ZENTRALE ENTWICKLUNG UND KONSTRUKTION (ZEK) PUMPEN UND VERDICHTER VEB. Nov. 6, 1959, No. 37746/59. Class 110 (1). In the centrifugal pump shown, the main impeller 10 delivers to a delivery union 12 by way of a separation chamber 13. A priming impeller 1 draws liquid from the chamber 13 by way of a duct 17 and returns it to the chamber 13 by way of an annular ejector nozzle 11 and a volute 7 having an exit 8. The resultant suction created at the entry to the nozzle 11 removes any air or gas from the intake pipe 16 by way of a conduit 5 and also by way of bores 6 in the impeller 10. The air or gas separates from the liquid in the chamber 13 and leaves the pump through the delivery union 12. The centrifugal pump may be of multi-stage type.
