917,909. Thermal recuperators. INDUSTRIE-COMPANIE KLUNEWEFERS KONSTRUKTIONSUND HANDELSGESELLSCHAFT. Feb. 28, 1961 [March 4, 1960], No. 7251/61. Class 64 (3). A steel tube recuperator has bent tubes, of elliptic or otherwise flattened cross-section, between two distribution headers, the tubes being bent in planes lying transversely to the direction of flow of flue gases which heat the fluid in the tubes. The fluid to be heated passes from header 1 via the steel tubes to header 2 and then to header 4. The tubes 13 are placed in cross-rows 14, 14a, 14b, &c., and are bent alternately towards different sides in planes lying perpendicular to the direction of flow 8 of the flue gases. The tubes are bent in an arched or S-shaped manner with the longer axis of the tube section extending in the direction of flow of the flue gases.
