917,895. Floor coverings. ANC. ETABLISMENT PEETERS, VAN HAUTE & DUYVER S.A. July 18, 1960 [June 9, 1960], No. 24904/60. Class 140. Floor covering is produced by coating the reverse side, i.e. the side opposite to the wearing surface and normally in contact with the floor, of a floor covering 1 having a support 2 provided at one side with hairs which form said wearing surface, with a layer 3 of a mixture of thermohardening resinous substances, e.g. a mixture of polyvinyl chloride and plasticizing substances, heating the coated side at 6 and finally calendering between calenders 7, 8 to impart to said layer an alveolate aspect. The alveoles may have a depth which is smaller than the thickness of said layer, and which may be diamond shaped in order to provide a good adherence in all directions.
