Abstract

1417209 Laminates PRECISION MECANIQUE LABINAL 23 May 1973 [25 May 1972] 24741/73 Addition to 1403431 Heading B5N [Also in Division H1] In a process according to Specification 1,403,431 the backing 2 is wider than the layer of filaments 1, excess adhesive 22 is provided at the edges, and the edges 4 of the backing 2 are rolled over the edge filaments 1, and possibly over further filaments 1 (Fig. 5, not shown) by passage either over one or two rollers each having a suitably shaped groove 16 or through a stationary guide (not shown) having a gradually varying cross-section. The edges 4 may be turned over while the adhesive 22 is still soft or later, the guide being heated to stick down the edges 4. In use, the cable may be held in position by an adhesive layer 22, which is covered until required by a peelable plastics coating or film 23.
