Abstract

916,939. Charging and discharging condensers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 11, 1959 [Dec. 16, 1958], No. 42219/59. Class 38 (4). A pulse-producing circuit comprises a gas or vapour-filled valve 9 whose grid circuit is similar to that disclosed in Specification 858,363 and comprises a capacitor 4 and resistor 5 fed through a rectifier 3 from an A.C. source 2 such that the grid is negative to the cathode and the valve fires when the grid rises during the discharge of the capacitor to an ignition value, e.g. 23, Fig. 2, and the anode circuit includes a capacitor 16 charged from an A.C. source through a rectifier 12 during the cut-off period and discharging through a transformer 10 and the valve when this fires to give an output pulse. The capacitors may be supplied from the same A.C. source or two individual phase-displaced sources.
