Abstract
566,200. Electricity supply. MILSOM, F. R., FURZEHILL LABORATORIES, Ltd., and SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES), Ltd., S. March 27, 1943, No. 4978. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XL] Integrating apparatus comprises a resistance in series with a condenser and is provided with means to offset by an equal and opposite E.M.F., the voltage built up on the condenser when a source of unidirectional E.M.F. is applied to the circuit the opposing E.M.F. being derived from the output of a cathode follower valve to the grid of which the voltage on the condenser is applied. The Figure shows an arrangement in which an alternating voltage is applied through a rectifier 1 to an integrating circuit 5, 6 and correction is effected by the cathode follower valve 2. The voltage across the condenser is applied to the grid of the valve 2 and the resistance 8 in the cathode circuit of the valve 2 is included in the charging circuit of the condenser 6. The condenser 6 is preferably connected to a point in a potentiometer 9, 10 so as to balance out the initial D.C. potentials tending to charge the condenser in the absence of the E.M.F. from the source. The output is taken from the terminals 13, 14.
