Abstract

A duplex material resistant to corrosion by hot water consists of a base of an Al-alloy containing 2-4% Mg and 0.5-1% Mn clad with an Al-alloy containing 1-4% Mg, 0.5-2% Zn and not more than 0.15% impurities. The base alloy may also contain:- .Cr.0.05-0.5% .Cu.0.1 -0.5% .Fe.0.25% .Si.0.25% .Zn.0.25% .Ti.0.2% The material may be used in the construction of a hot water tank.
