Abstract

A duplex material resistant to corrosion by hot water consists of a base of an Al-Mn alloy containing 0.5-1.5% Mn clad with an Al-Zn alloy containing 0.5-6% Zn and not more than 0.15% impurities. The base alloy may also contain:- .Mg.0.4-1.5% .Cu.0.1-0.5% .Fe.0.7% max .Si.0.6% max .Zn.0.25% max The material may be used for the shell and flue tube of a hot water tank.
