Abstract

913,379. Glazing. MARGAIRAZ, A. Jan. 28, 1960 [Jan. 29, 1959; Jan. 18, 1960], No. 3184/60. Class 20 (3). A glazing frame fitting in the rebate 8 of a window frame 9 and formed of U-section members 35, Fig. 12, 52, Fig. 13, or 59, Fig. 15, to accommodate the double window glass 65, Fig. 15, and having a securing flange which may be integral with the U-section members as 19, Fig. 15, or separate from the V-section members as 49, Fig. 12, with adjacent edges of the frame and flange interengaging as at 49, 51 or as indicated in Figs. 4-11 (not shown) and a peripheral flange or rib 18, Fig. 12, arranged to cover the joint of putty &c. between the U- section frame and the rebate 8 of the window frame 9. As shown in Fig. 15, the rib 70 may form part of the profile of the U-section. The flange or rib 53, Fig. 13, has a sharp edge 54 to penetrate into the surface of the frame 9 during assembly of the frame 52 in the frame 9. Packing pieces may be inserted between the flange such as 19 and the rebate 8 or such flange may be covered by an ornamental strip. A peripheral rib 66, Fig. 15, or flange may be provided to contact the rebate during assembly to restrain the outward movement of putty &c. disposed between the glazing frame and the rebate. The limbs 60, 64 of the U-section are inclined inwards to maintain pressure on the glass.
