Abstract

Double glazing panels are pre-assembled in a U-section frame in which the glazing is supported on pads submerged in a flexible mastic. Pref. the pads are covered with a layer of polysulphide rubber and the mastic is a silicone material compatible with the rubber cover. The framed glazing is easier to manipulate during storage and installation than unprotected sheet glass. Pref. the channel profile has an external flange which facilitates the fastening of the assembly into a conventional window frame with a stepped profile.
