Abstract

912,648. Motor vehicle lamps. SEDAN PRODUCTS Ltd. Sept. 27, 1961 [Dec. 2, 1960], No. 41464/60. Classes 75 (3) and 75 (4). A lamp for mounting on a vehicle comprises a rigid frame 1, Fig. 1, having open sides to receive spaced parallel lamp glasses and a fixed tubular boss 3 whose axes lies between and parallel to the glasses and means for frictionally securing the boss to a bracket so that it can be rotated in the bracket about the axes of the boss. The frame 1 is of generally triangular shape and carries transverse lugs 6, 8 on opposite walls in which fixing screws for the lamp glasses are secured. The boss 3 is bored to receive a mounting stub 10, Fig. 6, which also acts as the bulb holder. The stub has a portion 11 fitting into the boss 3 to which it is secured by a grub screw passing through holes 22 in the boss and 21 in the stub. The end of the stub is formed with a spigot 14 engaging a bracket 16 on which it can be rotated. The stub is bored for the passage of a conductor 17 for the lamp, an eyelet being inserted at the outer end to secure the earth conductor 20. Alternatively, the spigot 14 may be externally threaded and carry a fixing nut for the bracket. One side of the frame 1 may be blanked out by an opaque or reflecting plate.
