Abstract

1,084,649. Stud & socket fastenings. UNITED-CARR Inc. July 7. 1966 [July 12, 1965], No. 30588/66. Heading E2B. [Also in Division F4] An indicator light housing having a cavity to receive the lamp bulb, has one end wall 28 in which is an open-ended slot and side walls 30 each having a resilient wing 32, the free end of which extends beyond the wall 28, the housing being secured to a panel 12 by passing a lens element 14 through an aperture in the panel and engaging it in the slot, the wings then bearing on the rear of the panel. The body is formed with two parallel tubes which receive the leads to the lamp, one of them being longer than the other to accomodate a resistor connected in the lead. The lens element 14 consists of a lens 36 and a shank 38 form formed with a radial flange 42 at the opposite end, the whole being of transparent material and the end chamfered to assist in concentrating the light onto the lens. The rear wall of the housing may also be rendered reflecting for the same purpose.
