Abstract

912,504. Road traffic signals on vehicles. SIGNAL - STAT CORPORATION. May 8, 1959, No. 15930/59. Class 118. In a vehicle lighting and turn-signalling system, movement of the control lever 15, of the turn-signalling switch 13 closes either contacts 41, 43 or 41, 44 to complete the circuit from battery BA via flasher FL to either the right RFSL, RRSL or left LFSL, LRSL turn indicators, and also operates one of the members 25 to open one of the sets of contacts 30, 31 and so disconnect the associated tail lamp (LTL on RTL) from the battery. As shown, an additional switch 20 having the two control members 25 is mounted on the steering column 10 behind the switch 13, so that the lever 15 lies between the members 25. Movement of the lever 15 to signal a turn causes it to engage with a projection 26 on one or other of the members 25 to operate it.
