Abstract
1,099,509. Retractive switches. H. S. FLYNN. July 30, 1965, No. 32605/65. Heading H2B. [Also in Division G4] A switch 13 operated by the accelerator of a motor vehicle comprises a body member adapted to slide on a rail 14 and a contact pawl 12 fixed to the accelerator control, the arrangement being such that opening the throttle causes the pawl 12 to move the body member along the rail whilst closing the throttle causes the pawl to bridge a pair of contacts (25, 26, Fig. 5, not shown). The accelerator control may be a twist grip (11, Fig. 1, not shown), or a pedal 22, Fig. 4. The switch may be arranged in parallel with a brake switch (20) and connected in series with the ignition switch (17) and a fuse (18) to operate one or more stop lights (19), Fig. 3 (not shown).
