Abstract

911,738. Grinding wheel suction nozzles. HOLMAN BROS. Ltd. Feb. 16. 1959 [Feb. 18, 1958], No. 5319/58. Class 8(2). A grinding wheel suction head 14, Fig. 1, elbow 13 and suction duct 11 are so mounted on the wheel carrier 18 that the head 14 lies just beyond the wheel periphery and on the tangent to the work contacting portion 42, Fig. 2, of the wheel 10 with a main suction mouth 37 located in a side 27 of the head remote from the wheel. An auxiliary suction mouth 31 formed by a tongue 32 and lip 30 is provided in a side 29 of the head adjacent the wheel periphery and into which the heavier dust particles are drawn; the lighter particles being drawn into the main mouth 37. The suction duct 11 is carried by a clamp 20 affording angular adjustment of the head about the wheel axis.
