Abstract

840,422. Grinding, trueing grinding wheels. HOLMAN BROS. Ltd. Aug. 20, 1956 [Aug. 29, 1955; Nov. 25, 1955], Nos. 24759/55 and 33925/55. Class 60. [Also in Group XXVIII] A grinding wheel suction head 1, Fig. 1 (see Group XXVIII) is carried by a shaft 29 slidably mounted in a clamping sleeve 31 so as to be accommodated to wheels of varying diameters and carries a flexibly mounted workcontacting roller 3, Fig. 2, at the front serving to deflect dust into a suction mouth 15. The roller 3 comprises a plurality of annular steel discs 6 of internal diameter greater than the spindle 7 on which they are mounted and serves to locate the head in relation to the workpiece and also to take the weight of the head. The latter carries a wheel-dressing block of tungsten carbide 25. Specifications 755,604 and 782,510 are referred to.
