Abstract
911,237. Electric convector heaters. TIPPING, W. F. May 23, 1961 [July 13, 1960], No. 24431/60. Class 39 (3). [Also in Group X] An electric convector heater includes a heating unit carried on a base arranged so that air can flow upwardly through the base and pass radially outwardly through the heating unit and a plurality of surrounding louvres formed by a series of annular members mounted and vertically spaced upon supports extending upwardly from the base. The elements of the heating unit may be helical, as 22, Fig. 3, or of zig-zag form, and are mounted between insulating ring 20 and disc 21, which are themselves supported by four rods 16, Fig. 2 (in which the heating unit is missing), mounted on the base 10 and supporting a bracket 15 for a motor and fan 13, 14 which sucks air through a central aperture in the base. On rods 16 are mounted circular annular members 26, which slope outwardly and downwardly to present a convex upper surface and form louvres for the outward flow of air. Leads to the indicator lamp 35 and to the elements, which may be energized for " low " or " high " heat, pass up through tube 38 and via thermal cut-out 39.
