Abstract

911,177. Valves. JACOBSEN, R. Feb. 1, 1961 [Feb. 3, 1960], No. 3870/61. Class 135. A valve, particularly for plate radiators of the kind having spaced walls 1a, 1b enclosing a space 1c to receive a fluid heating medium, comprises a hollow cylindrical valve body 3 adapted to be secured in coaxial bores in the walls and having a port 7 communicating between an inlet end of the body and the space 1c, and a rotary valve plug 12 having a closure surface limited by a control edge 11, co-operating with the port 7, which is formed at an angle to the axis of the valve member. This valve member may be made of a somewhat elastic material such as a synthetic plastic and be provided with an axial bore 12 so that the fluid pressure expands it into sealing contact with the housing. The valve member 8 may be longitudinally slidable, instead of rotatable, in the housing.
