Abstract
910,647. Tea rolling machines. DE SAN, M. G. Dec.16, 1958, No. 40522/58. Class 129. In a tea rolling machine 1, an air stream is passed through substantially the whole of the tea mass 3 before leaving the machine. The machine 1, Fig. 1a comprises a rotatable screw 2 at the base of a tea container at or near whose base and upper end respectively are air inlets and an air outlet. As shown, the air is supplied through a lever operated valve 8 from a pipe 10, which may supply several rolling machines, and is fed from a fan 16 through wire screens 13 on to which water drips. The temperature of the machine may be controlled automatically. A screen 5 made in two halves is provided at the top of the machine 1. Alternatively, Fig. 3, air is supplied from the hollow shaft of screw 3 through holes 29 protected by baffles 27, 28. In a further modification, an air passage is formed between the shaft and a fixed casing leading to a cavity under the screw. Specification No. 25599/11 is referred to.
