Abstract

1,137,884. Air humidifier. ARMSTRONG MACHINE WORKS. 8 Dec., 1965, No. 52113/ 65. Headings B1R and B2F. In apparatus for humidifying a stream of air a conduit 2 with holes 3 along its length is disposed transversely of a duct through which the stream of air is passing, the conduit 2 being connected to a supply of steam and partly surrounded by a jacket 4 traversed by steam to minimise condensation in the steam discharged from holes 3 during operation of the humidifier. As shown the jacket 4 is divided internally by a partition 14 and steam passes first through portion 12 and then portion 13 of the jacket. The walls of the jacket may be lagged.
