Abstract
910,304. Wall and like brackets; shelves. VERSATILE FITTINGS (W. H. S.) Ltd., ARMSTRONG, G. R., and SEATON, R. E. Sept. 30, 1959 [Sept. 30, 1958], No. 31276/68. Classes 52 (1) and 52 (5). In a shelf construction, a shelf 34 or a wire basket (Fig. 3, not shown) is carried by means of bearer rails 30 on bracket arms 17 supported by uprights 10. The top-hat section upright portion 18 of each bracket is adjustably clamped by means of a turn-button and screw to upright 10, the turn-button engaging behind shoulders 12. Down-turned ends of clips 26 surround the edges of the flanges of arms 17 and provide a sliding engagement by means of which nuts welded on the underside of the clips can be positioned along channel 27. Screws 32 are arranged to secure the halved ends of adjacent rails 30 and at the same time to press down on the floor of channel 27 and prevent the sliding motion of the clips 26. Alternatively, clips 26 may be welded to a continuous length of rail 30. The corrugations of strip 36 receive tongues 38 of partition supporting members 39. In another form (Fig. 8, not shown) a modified bracket arm consisting of a piece of sheet metal has notches in the upper edge engaging corresponding notches in rails 30.
