Abstract

1518941 Plinths; furniture frames and joints; cabinets J W KITSON 6 Aug 1975 [7 Aug 1974(2)] 19951/74 and 19952/74 Headings A4B and A4H A plinth for supporting a cabinet comprises at least two elongate units 3, 5 connected end-to-end, each unit having a planar end-wall 9 or 11 of sheet material, wall 9 having hooked projections 7 that engage in openings 10 in wall 11 when the walls are in face-to-face abutment. Wall 11 also has hooks 15 that engage in openings (14) of a transverse member. A plinth unit 38 may slideably engage two plinth units 34, 35 to provide a plinth 31 of adjustable length. Two cabinets 20, 21 supported on three adjacent plinths 32, 33 and 31 may be connected at an adjustable distance by a shelf 22 that slides in recesses 23, 25 beneath the floors of the cabinets.
