A structure for supporting shelves and cabinets comprises two spaced upright frames (Fig. 1) or panels 16 having a plurality of holes 17 for engaging the ends of rods 10 accommodated in grooves in the undersides of the shelves or cabinets The rod ends may be hook-shaped to engage the holes 17 or to engage holes (22) in angle brackets (18) secured to the panel by screws (20) engaging the holes therein, the holes in this case being threaded; or the ends of the rod are provided with holes through which the screws are passed (Fig. 7); or the rods are tubular and have internally threaded ends for engagement with screws passed through the holes in the panels (Fig. 6).
