Abstract

909,977. Valve bags. DICKINSON & CO. Ltd., JOHN. Feb. 20, 1961 [Feb. 19, 1960], No. 5956/60. Class 94(2). A , liquid container 10 comprises an envelope having front and rear faces of thin flexible material joined by welds 14, 15 so as to define a main container space and a conduit 16 extending into the main container space, and connecting it to a mouth 13, whereby when the main container is filled with liquid, the walls of the conduit are forced together to prevent liquid escape. The envelope may be gusset folded and formed from tubular sleeving, by folding a single sheet in half, or by joining two separate sheets, and is preferably made of polythene or polythene coated paper. In a modification, Fig. 3, a single sheet is doubled over and welded at 15, this weld forming both the side seam and one edge of the conduit 16.
