Abstract

An electrically conductive viscous fluid with a gel-like consistency, for use in forming electrical earth connections (see Group XXXVI), is prepared from an 8 to 10% solution of crushed bentonite and water with added soda to which, after continuous stirring, an activating material, preferably calcium chloride, is added in a quantity of 8 to 10% of the entire solution. If the solution is to be used in ground containing strong humus acids, either calcium chloride should not be used as the activating agent, or the quantity should be reduced in order to obtain a solution having an alkaline reaction.
