903,594. Shoe fasteners; buckles. SCHWENDINGER, V. Sept. 1, 1959 [Sept. 20, 1958], No. 29750/59. Classes 17 (2) and 43. [Also in Group XXV] A fastener, for example for tightening a strap of a shoe comprises parts 1, 7 and 10 which are articulately connected together and are adapted to fold down one on to the other so as to tighten the shoe strap 11, the parts being held in folded condition by snap engagement of the part 7 with a member 4 cut and bent out of the part 1, a resilient component 3, e.g. of rubber, provided on the latter, being lightly compressed during the engagement. The fastener is attached to the shoe by a leather loop 6 engaged through an aperture 5 in one end of the part 1, the other end thereof being bent so as to form a portion 2 for engaging the part 7 and so as to form a housing for the component 3.
