Abstract
851,722. Stud and socket fastenings. GIULIO FIOCCHI S. A. Feb. 15, 1957 [Jan. 14, 1957], No. 5169/57. Class 44. A press button fastener comprises a stud part having a shank 23 which snap engages a socket part 21 the shank being adapted rotatably to engage flexible material 20 to which the stud part is to be secured and having a manually operable head 22, the shank also having opposite depressions 30 on its exterior arranged to be snapengaged by spring means 27 incorporated in the socket part for holding the stud part locked to the socket part until release is effected by rotary movement of the stud part through approximately 90 degrees, the stud part consisting of a stud 23 and an elongated head 22. The stud part has a peripheral groove 25 immediately underneath the head to receive the material 20 and this groove also receives a radially split washer 24 which secures the stud part to the material 20. The socket part comprises a box-like frame 28 which contains the spring means 27 and which is attached to fabric or other material 20<1> by a head 211 which engages a tubular foot 29 which is attached to the frame 28. The spring 27 has two parallel legs which engages the depressions 30.
