903,532. Carburetters. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES. Nov. 4, 1960 [Dec. 5, 1959], No. 38049/60. Class 7(3) In a carburetter comprising an auxiliary starting carburetter, the point 14 at which the starting carburetter discharges into the induction pipe 1 of the main carburetter is arranged downstream of a secondary strangler valve 15 itself arranged downstream of the throttle valve 11 and the secondary strangler valve is so arranged as to open under the action of the mixture flow in opposition to the action of a restoring device. The valve 15 must not be sealing-tight when it is closed so that it does not begin its opening movement until there is substantial flow of mixture. The device for returning the valve to the closed position can be constituted by a counterweight 17 if necessary co-operating with a spring which can assist or oppose the action of the counterweight. The distributer 5 may be operated either automatically or manually.
