[Also in Group XXXI] The chassis of a masted lift truck or pallet truck is articulated at G to facilitate passage from an inclined surface F<SP>1</SP> to a level surface F with the chassis part 2 remaining horizontal. As shown in Fig. 5, movement of the chassis part 2 relative to a steering head 4 is effected by a toggle linkage 8a, 9 actuated by a handle 8b. In a modification, Fig. 6, the part 2 is connected to head 4 by parallel links 10, 10a, and is articulated by a lever 10b rigid with link 10a. In a further embodiment (Fig. 7), a parallelogram linkage 10, 10a, 11, 13 is provided between the part 2 and extension 14 of arm 3 and an arm 10c rigid with link 10a bears against the arm 3 by way of a roller 15 so that the steering head 4 and arm 3 do not tilt with respect to the ground. Hydraulic rams can be used to effect the tilting of the chassis.
