Abstract

1520970 Fork lift trucks CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 2 Nov 1976 [23 Feb 1976 (3)] 45550/76 Heading B8L A two section telescopic mast 33 is operatively connected to a fork lift truck body part 16 through pairs of parallel limbs 31, 37 pivoted to the mast and to a lever 22 pivoted to the part 16, to form a parallel linkage for elevating the mast 33 under the control of a pair of hydraulic rams 41. Upon elevation of the lower section 46 of the mast by the limbs 31, 37, the upper section 47 of the mast is extended through a chain 99 and sprocket 56, and also a carriage for forks 76 is elevated along the section 47 by a further chain 102 and sprocket 69. The mast 33 is tiltable relative to the truck part 16 by a further hydraulic ram controlling the pivotal angle of the lever 22.
