Abstract

901,436. Windscreen wipers. BOSCH G.m.b.H., ROBERT. April 20, 1961 [April 21, 1960], No. 14225/61. Addition to 726,275. Class 138 (1). A windscreen wiper includes a spring stirrup 12 for coupling the hooked end 7 of a wiper arm 8 to a U-section blade carrier 5, and clipped over a bush 11 rotatable on a spindle 10 secured, e.g. by rivets, between the side walls of the carrier 5. Lining strips 16, which may be of plastic, e.g. polyamide, are held against the inner surfaces of said walls by abutment by the ends of the bush 11. On assembly, the end 7 is passed through a slot 6 in the carrier 5 and is pulled over the stirrup 12 to be locked thereto by engagement of a projection 14 on the latter with a hole 15 therein. In an alternative embodiment the spindle 10, bush 11 and strips 16 are replaced by an integral extruded plastic frame 17 provided with projections 18 and 20 which engage corresponding holes and recesses provided in the carrier 5.
