899,439. Fork lift trucks. RAYMOND CORPORATION. Dec. 15, 1959, No. 42585/59. Class 79(5). [Also in Group XXX] A fork lift truck has mounted in its frame 4, a driven, steerable wheel 2 and a castor wheel 12, and extending from the frame, outriggers 16 and 18. A wheel 22 is castormounted in the outrigger 18, and a wheel 20 is mounted in the outrigger 16 by means of a fork 32 and a swivel plate 34. A double acting hydraulic cylinder 44 and piston rod 42 are provided to turn the plate 34, and with it the wheel 20, into either of two perpendicular planes shown in Figs. 2 and 4. An indicator 62 to show the direction of travel of the wheel 2, and control means for actuating the double acting cylinder and piston to position the wheel 20 accordingly, are provided for the driver of the truck.
