Abstract

839,000. Lift trucks. KAYE, E., SHARP, J. R., and ARNOT, A. E. R. May 16, 1958 [May 17, 1957], No. 15814/57. Class 78 (3). The fork lift mast 35 or other load carrier of a straddle leg reach truck is guided by channels 20, 23, 24, on the truck body which co-operate with rollers 40, 41 and 27 on the supporting frame of the mast structure. A double-acting hydraulic ram 25 connected between the truck body and the rollers 27 moves the mast structure, and a longitudinal pivotal connection 26 between the ram piston-rod and the member carrying rollers 27 compensates for any misalignment of the guides. The mast structure is as described in Specification 803,066, but in various modifications (not shown) it comprises a low lift pallet fork, or a coil carrier or a bale clamp.
