Abstract

899,095. Induction flowmeters. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. July 28, 1960 [Aug. 6, 1959], No. 26952/59. Class 37. In an electromagnetic flowmeter comprising a body 1 and electrodes 9, pressure equalizing gaps are provided between the insulating lining 2 and the bore. The body 1 and electrodes 9 are preferably of stainless steel and the liner of high-density ceramic such as alumina. Conductors 7, feeding electrodes 9, are sealed to ceramic insulators 8, retained by hollow screws 11. The flowmeter is suitable for operation at high temperatures and pressures and is energized by forced cooled windings, not shown, fed from alternating current.
