Abstract
1466372 Carrying conductors into casings ALSTHOM-SAVOISIENNE 7 May 1974 [10 May 1973] 20170/74 Headings H2C and H2E A lead through terminal, particularly for high voltage transformers, has a metallic output part 15 which has a shoulder 16 on which a seal 17 is placed and which is pulled up to the inside face of the head 18 of an epoxy resin insulator by locking pins 22. The pins may pass through oversized holes 21 in lugs 20 which rest on the outside of the insulator and also through holes 19 in the output part 15, being pulled up by other screws (not shown) passing through the top of the lugs into threaded holes 24 in the pins 22. An extra shoulder 26 may be provided on the output part to prevent over-compression of the seal. The lugs may be of a metal such as aluminium. A degassing hole (27, Fig. 4, not shown) may be provided in the insulator body. The insulator is preferably made of a mixture of Araldite (Registered Trade Mark) and cycloaliphatic Araldite (Registered Trade Mark).
