Abstract

Class 120(2) [Also in Group XXXVII] A periodically changing twist is imparted to threads immediately before or simultaneously as they run on to a bobbin by a reversible electric motor which has a shaft with an axial bore through which the threads may be passed. The twisting head consists of the hollow shaft 5 that supports the rotor 4 of a Ferraris motor and carries a thread guide 6 at one end. The number of rotations in opposite directions is limited by stops 8, 9 in a helical control member 7 associated with a disc 10 displaceable on a rod 12 and reversal of direction of the motor is controlled electronically (see Group XXXVII). The shaft 5 is reciprocated in front of the bobbin. Specification 819,583 is referred to.
