Abstract
898,653. Sleeping bags. SLATER, T. Nov. 30, 1960 [Feb. 4, 1960], No. 3948/60. Class 133. A sleeping bag 10 has attached to its head 13 a panel 15 foldable along at least one transverse fold line to form a pillow, Fig. 2, fastening means 19, 20 being provided so that the pillow may be formed into a hood 22, Fig. 3. The panel 15 is padded and folds along two transverse lines to form the pillow and at the back of one of these fold lines is a sliding clasp fastener 21 in two halves 19, 20 extending in opposite directions from the centre. By bringing the halves of the fastener together they can be engaged, thus forming the hood. Draw tapes 25 in hems 23 have loops 26 through which their other ends are passed and tied beneath the chin. For storage the sides of the bag 10 are folded inwards, the bag is rolled from the foot, the panel 15 rolled around the bag and the tapes 25 drawn tight. Instead of a sliding clasp fastener other fastening means such as press studs may be used.
