1,049,458. Folding mattresses. SEMPERIT ÍSTERREICHISCH - AMERIKANISCHE GUMMIWERKE A.G. Sept. 9, 1965 [Sept. 11, 1964], No. 38508/65. Heading A4M A folding portable mattress comprises pads 1-4 of foamed synthetic material or rubber, the pads being narrowly spaced apart and totally enclosed in a covering of fabric bonded on the inside to a layer of rubber or synthetic waterproof material, the top and bottom layers of the fabric being welded together around the edges of the pads to form narrow necks 10 connecting successive pads so that the pads may be folded to form a stack, and an end section has between the pad 1 and the fabric covering an inflatable pillow 5. Sections 3 and 4 have on their longitudinal edges sliding clasp fasteners or press stud fasteners so that the device can be used as a bag for carrying beachwear &c.
