Abstract

109,761. Slater, M. H. May 18, 1917. Sleeping-bags.-A scout blanket or sleeping-bag comprises a main portion 10, to which a smaller portion 11 is sewn along three of its edges, the top 21 being left open to form a pocket to receive the body of the user. A corner 24 is then folded inwards and the lower end of the main portion 10 is folded over, after which the side part 17 is folded over, as shown. The other side part 18 is then similarly folded over and secured by the snap fasteners shown. The upper part of the folded main portion is then folded downward, and the corners 25, 26 are spread laterally, as shown in Fig. 5, these corners being then carried round underneath and fastened by tapes 29, 30 secured to them and brought round to the front, where they are tied together. A breathing-space 32 is thus provided, while the body and feet of the user become covered by a number of thicknesses of material.
