Abstract
898,022. Nuclear fuel elements. A.E.I.-J. THOMPSON NUCLEAR ENERGY CO. Ltd. Oct. 14, 1959 [Nov. 19, 1958], No. 37282/58. Class 39(4). The nuclear reactor fuel plate 1 comprises a beryllium framework 4 containing uranium dioxide plates 6 and cavities 7 containing porous magnesium oxide to absorb fission gases. Beryllium plates are attached to the opposite faces of 4 by zirconium bolts which are separated from the beryllium by graphite spacers.
