897,874. Load-carrying harness &c. ANCIAUX, A. T. J. H. June 24, 1960 [July 15, 1959; July 17, 1959], No. 22217/60. Class 141 [Also in Group XXXII] Load-carrying means for enabling two bearers to carry a live or inanimate load comprises a pair of harnesses I consisting of straps 2, 3 in a figure-of-eight arrangement to be worn by the two bearers and having coupling means for engaging the ends of two poles 12 from the centre of which is pivotally suspended a seat member 19 as shown (see Group XXXII) or a net or system of bands for carrying an inanimate load. Each harness preferably comprises a single strap crossed at the back and connected by an adjustable slide 4 or a rivet or may comprise two separate straps. The coupling means comprises slidable frames 5, 6 having hooks 10, 11 for engaging rings 14 on the poles 12. The poles are tubular with telescopic end pieces 13<SP>1</SP> and are made of light metal.
